Algol Pharma brings revolutionary blood tests to Scandinavia

Algol Pharma has signed an agreement with Norwegian company DiaGenic ASA
concerning the marketing and distribution of the company’s diagnostics tests in
Finland and Scandinavia. These products represent a revolutionary new
technology in the world that can help diagnose breast cancer and Alzheimer’s
Disease at an early stage through blood tests.

According to Sales Manager Jarmo Niiranen, who prepared the co-operation
agreement at Algol Pharma, the new products open entirely new opportunities for
diagnosing illnesses through blood tests. These include BCtect for diagnosing
breast cancer and ADtect for diagnosing Alzheimer’s Disease. The test results
are typically available seven days after the sample has been taken.

The new method allows for early treatment, which is of utmost importance for
curing these diseases. Early treatment can also help reduce healthcare costs.
The tests are registered trademarks, and the technology is patented.

The new tests will be launched in the autumn. The target audience includes
specialist doctors and laboratories. According to Jarmo Niiranen, Algol Pharma
brings to the partnership expertise in both diagnostics and medicine, which
were essential qualities for attracting DiaGenic. Within Algol Pharma the
products will be marketed by the diagnostics specialists at the MedTec group
with support from the pharmaceuticals specialists at the PharmaMed group. The
new products will be primarily the responsibility of Sales Manager Jukka Puomio.

DiaGenic ASA is an innovative Norwegian in vitro diagnostic company founded in
1998 and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Algol Pharma is part of the Finnish
Algol Group, which has annual sales of approximately EUR 260 million. With a
history stretching back over a hundred years, Algol expanded into the
