Parent Company Algol receives environmental certification
Lloyd´s Register Quality Assurance has audited the Algol Group´s quality system
and renewed all six of its quality certificates for three years as of 1
February 2009. At the same time Algol Oy was granted environmental
certification according to the ISO 14001 standard.
The parent company´s certification reflects an increasing commitment to
environmental management alongside the broad array of quality systems. This
comprehensive approach to environmental issues is also highlighted in Algol´s
updated environmental policy.
Environmental management has keen a key concern within Algol since 1997, when
Algol´s Chemical Division became a pioneer in its branch in Finland to receive
certification according to the ISO 14001 standard for its environmental
management system. All of Algol´s operations have adhered to the principles of
this system from the outset.
Quality certification according to the ISO 9000 standard was granted for all of
Algol´s operations for the first time in 1993. Today the Algol Group has a
total of six quality certificates. Algol´s certified companies are Algol Oy,
Algol Chemicals Oy, Algol Technics Oy and Algol Pharma Oy in Finland, Algol
Chemicals OÜ in Estonia and Algol Chemicals SIA in Latvia.
