Head of Pharmaceutical Division changes in June

Olavi Oinonen, Director of the Pharmaceutical Division, will retire on 1 June
2002 after having steered the division for two decades. Heikki Haapoja, B.Sc.
(Econ.), currently Sales Manager of the Pharmaceutical Division´s Solvay Pharma
Group, has been appointed Director of the Pharmaceutical Division as of 1 June
2002. He has worked in product marketing and sales management at the division
since 1984.

Risto Lahtinen, Mag.Phil., will succeed Heikki Haapoja as Sales Manager of the
Solvay Pharma Group starting on 1 June 2002. He has been with Algol since 1994.

The wide product range of the Pharmaceutical Division focuses on human
pharmaceuticals, veterinary preparations, pharmacy products, diagnostic
products and rehabilitation equipment. The division has expanded its home
market from Finland to the Baltic states, where Algol has subsidiaries in
Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
