Algol Technics and Gottwald team up to provide services to ports
Algol Technics and German port crane manufacturer Gottwald Port Technology have
signed a co-operation agreement covering installation and maintenance services
at Finnish ports. The co-operation has already begun in practice.
The new agreement covers a wide range of After Sales services. It authorises
Algol Technics to carry out new installations and repairs on mobile cranes, to
carry out alternations to existing cranes, to supply spare parts, to provide
technical support and to sign separate agreements with customers covering the
servicing and maintenance of mobile cranes.
According to Marko Väänänen, head of Algol Technics´Operating Reliability unit,
the co-operation offers the company new opportunities in the field. It also
creates beneficial synergies for customers, since Algol Technics has
specialised for many decades in process and special crane technology and
operating reliability services.
Gottwald´s mobile cranes are custom-made for handling containers and have a
lifting capacity of 18 to 200 tonnes within an operating area of 8 to 56
metres. The highest number of mobile cranes in Finnish cargo ports can be found
in Kemi, Rauma and Hamina.
Gottwald Port Technology GmbH is specialiced in cargo handling technology and
is the global market leader in mobile cranes. The company is part of the Demag
Cranes AG group. Algol has represented Demag lifting equipment in Finland since
1958.
