Algol Technics and Finnish Transport Agency extend maintenance agreement for rail passenger information system

Press Release 10.12.2018

Algol Technics and the Finnish Transport Agency have agreed to extend their cooperation agreement regarding the service and maintenance of rail passenger information system equipment at train stations in Finland. The agreement covers all passenger railway stations from Hanko to Kemijärvi and is valid for 4 +2 years. The maintenance agreement covers preventive maintenance and 24/7 emergency service.

The new agreement marks a continuation to six years of cooperation between Algol Technics and the Finnish Transport Agency. During this period, in addition to maintenance services, Algol Technics has overseen the installation of new passenger information screens and public address systems, as well as fibre optic cabling for this equipment.

“Throughout our cooperation, we have focused on preventive maintenance and achieved a significant reduction in the number of faults and malfunctions. We are extremely satisfied that we are able to continue to serve as a partner to the Finnish Transport Agency for the next agreement period,” says Martin Evers, Managing Director of Algol Technics.

“The reliability of rail passenger information equipment, i.e. information screens and public address systems at train stations, is of paramount importance to rail passengers. This can be ensured with the help of a reliable and expert maintenance provider, which Algol Technics has been. As a result, it is excellent news for the Finnish Transport Agency that Algol Technics won the extremely competitive public tender and in so doing ensured seamless continuation to our previous agreement,” says Kimmo Turunen, Senior Officer at the Finnish Transport Agency.
