Materials Handling Division delivers a heavy-duty transfer car to ABB

A load of up to 60 tons can be placed on the new, massive transfer car, which
was designed and manufactured by the Materials Handling Division. The transfer
car was delivered to ABB Oy Industry´s production plant in Helsinki for
conveying heavy generator parts.The construction is based on the world-renowned
Demag technology.

Product Manager Heikki Tiainen at the Materials Handling Division emphasizes
the high performance of the solution and its good efficiency. The 540 V
current of the battery-operated transfer car is fed economically straight into
the DC Circuit of the AC inverter. The car´s safety system replete with laser
radar is an example of the latest achievements in technology in the field. The
transfer speed of the car reaches a maximum of 25 metres a minute.
